With the Republican primaries over as well this week, Ron Paul easily passed the 1 million vote mark.
The Texas congressman racked up more than 45,800 votes in the final three contests on Tuesday. He finished second in all three to John McCain, the presumptive nominee, with 22 percent of the vote in Montana, 17 percent in South Dakota, and 14 percent in New Mexico.
Paul is trying to win a speaking slot and platform influence at the GOP convention in September, when he could prove a fly in the proverbial ointment for McCain’s coronation.
“Dr. Paul’s grassroots supporters across the country are doing a tremendous job spreading our message, winning votes, and laying a strong foundation for the future,” campaign spokesman Jesse Benton said in a statement today.

- Last weekend Republican National Convention delegates were elected at congressional district meetings in Minnesota.
Ron Paul supporters won 6 of the 12 national delegates available.
-
“They’ll be national delegates, but at the end of the day, that doesn’t change anything because John McCain is going to be our nominee,” said party spokesman Mark Drake.
-
Marianne Stebbins, Ron Paul’s Minnesota campaign manager said “If we get enough delegates, we’ll be able to get [Paul] speaking time at the convention.”

NEW YORK (Hollywood Reporter) - The networks are trotting out their big stars for Tuesday’s key primaries in Texas and Ohio, as the duel between Democratic challengers Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama reaches fever pitch.

CBS’ Katie Couric will be in Ohio and ABC’s Charles Gibson in Texas. NBC’s Brian Williams will stay in New York. Once more, the networks’ decision desks will get a workout. The cable channels, for instance, are planning nonstop coverage through the night, and the broadcasters are scheduling brief updates during primetime.
Turnout is expected to be strong in the four states — Ohio and Texas, as well as in Vermont and Rhode Island, the other two states voting on Tuesday. Polls close in Ohio at 7:30 p.m. EST and all voting in Texas will be over by 9 p.m. EST.
Opinion polls show Clinton and Obama in tight races in both Ohio and Texas — the biggest prizes.

ARLINGTON, VIRGINIA - In a Press Release dated February 18th, 2008, Republican presidential candidate Ron Paul’s campaign reported that petition team volunteers had collected almost 10,000 signatures to qualify Ron for placement on the April 22 Pennsylvania Republican primary ballot. As reported by Debbie Hopper, Assistant Campaign Manager, “A mere 2,000 valid nomination signatures were required and this illustrates the sheer determination of Ron’s Pennsylvania supporters.”
More critically, over 63 Ron Paul supporters had concurrently successfully filed nomination petitions to be placed on the April 22 ballot as convention Delegate candidates. Hopper reported, “These results are historic. Ron’s supporters turned out for delegate candidates in such meaningful numbers to place them on the ballot in every one of Pennsylvania’s 19 Congressional Districts. This grossly exceeded the campaign’s expectations.”
In follow up news, Hopper today confirmed that Ron had on February 20th secured the coveted number one position on the Pennsylvania ballot and that 19 of the 63 Ron Paul delegate candidates similarly secured top ballot positions. In Hopper’s words, “Pennsylvania will
again be the Keystone State, this time as a battleground where lost, traditional Republican values of limited government and personal
liberty may at last be restored.”
Congressman Ron Paul is one of only three Republicans who remain to compete for Republican nomination for President.
Ron Paul was born and raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He graduated from Gettysburg College in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania.

“Former candidate Mitt Romney has formally endorsed Republican john McCain for president and will encourage his 286 delegates to support McCain. Developing…”
Romney is trying to get into the “circle” of jerks which includes other politicians so he can receive support again when he runs in 2012 or in future. Obviously some politicians thought Romney had done nothing to contribute to them so they ridiculed him. By endorsing McCain, he is setting up his future presidential bid.
Conservatives can now see that the truly wasted vote was for Romney.
Romney Timeline
- Romney tried to out-”liberal” Ted Kennedy for a Senate seat but then argued that was just a phase he was going through and now he is “Mr. Conservative.”
- People believed him and voted for Romney as the “electable” anti-McCain.
- Romney took many Paul votes in NH, NV, etc. and then Romney flipflops by dropping out days after saying he was staying in (making him less electable than still-in Ron Paul after all; you have to be in it to win it).
- Then Romney flipflops by trying to throw all his anti-McCain votes to McCain.
I would be furious if I were a Romney voter or delegate.
What are Romney voters/delegates saying?

Richmond, VA- Fox News has learned that the Huckabee campaign has called for a “full investigation” into the Washington State Caucus results, and are sending campaign lawyers to the state to help in that pursuit. Ed Rollins, Huckabee campaign chairman, directly challenged Washington State GOP Chairman Luke Essers move in announcing that John McCain had won the tight race with only 87.2 percent of the votes counted.
“The chairman showed very bad judgment in stopping the voting last night when announcing John McCain had won, when there was less that a 200 vote margin between the two candidates,” Rollins told Fox in an exclusive interview.” You never announce a vote, in my 40 years of politics I have never know anybody to announce a vote count before the vote is counted.”
Rollins was quick to say that they were not accusing the McCain campaign of any impropriety but that their issue was soley with the Esser’s “bad judgement”.
Fox News was given unprecedented access to a strategy session today, with the Huckabee campaign inner circle. Ed Rollins, the national campaign chairman, lead the meeting where the main topic was how to challenge the Washington caucus results. Rollins also said their attorneys have attempted to contact Essers but as of this writing he had not returned their phone calls.
According to the state tally,McCain won 26 percent of delegates, Huckabee garnered 24 percent.

January 30th, 2008, filed by Jeremy Pelofsky
SIMI VALLEY, Calif. - Much of the attention in the race for the Republican presidential nomination has narrowed to Arizona Sen. John McCain and former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney, apparently irking rivals former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee and Texas Rep. Ron Paul.
As McCain and Romney stressed their conservative credentials at a debate Wednesday night at the Ronald Reagan presidential library, Huckabee tried to get a word in — and Paul interjected, too, both with little success.
“There are a number of pieces of legislation where his views are out of the mainstream, at least in my view, of conservative Republican thought,” Romney said, chastizing McCain for his initial support for giving amnesty to illegal immigrants and opposing drilling for oil in the Artic National Wildlife Refuge.
