Huckabee Campaign Calls for “Full Investigation” into Washington State

February 10th, 2008

Richmond, VA- Fox News has learned that the Huckabee campaign has called for a “full investigation” into the Washington State Caucus results, and are sending campaign lawyers to the state to help in that pursuit. Ed Rollins, Huckabee campaign chairman, directly challenged Washington State GOP Chairman Luke Essers move in announcing that John McCain had won the tight race with only 87.2 percent of the votes counted.

“The chairman showed very bad judgment in stopping the voting last night when announcing John McCain had won, when there was less that a 200 vote margin between the two candidates,” Rollins told Fox in an exclusive interview.” You never announce a vote, in my 40 years of politics I have never know anybody to announce a vote count before the vote is counted.”

Rollins was quick to say that they were not accusing the McCain campaign of any impropriety but that their issue was soley with the Esser’s “bad judgement”.

Fox News was given unprecedented access to a strategy session today, with the Huckabee campaign inner circle. Ed Rollins, the national campaign chairman, lead the meeting where the main topic was how to challenge the Washington caucus results. Rollins also said their attorneys have attempted to contact Essers but as of this writing he had not returned their phone calls.

According to the state tally,McCain won 26 percent of delegates, Huckabee garnered 24 percent.

Media Smeared Paul For Racism, Ignored McCain’s “Gook” Comments

February 6th, 2008

A shining example of how the media engaged in a witch hunt as part a coordinated campaign to sink the presidential campaign of Congressman Ron Paul is when they attacked him for vaguely racist comments made by other people in the 80’s, while completely ignoring the fact that Republican frontrunner John McCain openly said he hated “gooks” more recently.

James Kirchick’s New Republic hit piece, which was echoed by every sector of the establishment media for weeks on end, was a vitriolic, biased, and agenda-driven smear attack that lumped in half-truths, outright lies and guilt by association in an attempt to demonize Ron Paul as a racist.

Bear in mind that the comments Kirchick based his article on were largely drawn from newsletters put out in the 1980’s of which Ron Paul had no editorial control over. Despite the fact that the comments were made by other people, Ron Paul apologized anyway and yet the feeding frenzy that ensued blatantly exposed the fact that the establishment had been chomping at the bit to seize on anything negative to attack the Congressman with.

Meanwhile, John “Keating Five”, ahem I mean John “anti-corruption” McCain, disgracefully said he hated “gooks” in public for assembled reporters to hear during his previous presidential campaign in 2000.

“I hated the gooks. I will hate them as long as I live,” McCain said on his campaign bus.

“Euros Accepted” signs pop up in New York City

February 6th, 2008

NEW YORK (Reuters) - In the latest example that the U.S. dollar just ain’t what it used to be, some shops in New York City have begun accepting euros and other foreign currency as payment for merchandise.

“We had decided that money is money and we’ll take it and just do the exchange whenever we can with our bank,” Robert Chu, owner of East Village Wines, told Reuters television.

The increasingly weak U.S. dollar, once considered the king among currencies, has brought waves of European tourists to New York with money to burn and looking to take advantage of hugely favorable exchange rates.

“We didn’t realize we would take so much in and there were that many people traveling or having euros to bring in. But some days, you’d be surprised at how many euros you get,” Chu said.

Paul to drop out? Paul to return home to Texas Sunday. “Candidates ending a presidential bid traditionally return home to make the announcement.”

February 5th, 2008

“The Republican party’s Super Tuesday survey of 21 states could be more a time for soul searching than celebrating for the scrappy, insurgent presidential campaign of Texas Rep. Ron Paul.

Paul defied expectations to make his mark during the campaign with remarkable online fundraising totals and omnipresent supporters. The question now remains: will the brushfire burn out?

Paul has insisted repeatedly that he will not mount an independent campaign, remaining in the Republican race until the money ran out, pointing to Super Tuesday as a bellwether…”

McUnconstitutional

February 5th, 2008

“The Constitution has little relevance to the government, but still it’s interesting to note that the crazed John McCain was born, to his state-connected parents, in the Panama Canal Zone. The Zone, the product of US imperialism under the crazed Teddy Roosevelt, was never officially US territory. That is, McCain was born in a foreign country, and therefore not eligible to be president, according to the Constitution.”

Obama and Paul: The Kings of the Web Election

February 5th, 2008

There’s no question this year that Barack Obama and Ron Paul are the kings of US politics on the Internet. They both command the lion’s share of their party’s attention online and seem to dominate social networking and social media sites. So why is only one of those campaigns actually working? Too bad the Internet doesn’t have any delegates.

There’s no question this year that Barack Obama and Ron Paul are the kings of US politics on the Internet. They both command the lion’s share of their party’s attention online and seem to dominate social networking and social media sites. So why is only one of those campaigns actually working? How come only Obama has been able to translate his online success to success at the polls? We thought we’d take a brief look today at the Obama campaign and why it has been successful, while citizens in 24 US states head to the polls as part of “Super Tuesday.”

Last week Obama’s campaign announced that it had raised $32 million in January alone, a record $28 million online — more than Howard Dean raised in his entire 2004 campaign. Twice this campaign cycle, Ron Paul has set single day fundraising records. If anything, the power of online fundraising has been proved many times over during this election.

Looking over Obama’s numbers, we see that an overwhelming amount of that $28 million was via small donations — 90% under $100 each. 10,000 people gave between $5 and $10. That’s a whole new paradigm for fundraising. Rather than chase $2,300 checks from a few hundred rich people at lavish fundraisers (okay, they still do that), campaigns can more easily focus on collecting thousands of smaller donations from regular people that add up to the same amount (or more).
